Practicing Catholics from Saint Stephen's Church lead our faith formation programs in preparation of the sacraments. These volunteer positions are very rewarding. It allows the educator to share their faith while continuing to grow themselves. If you are interested in serving on our teams, please see the opportunity details and contacts below.
CCD Teachers
Saint Stephen's Religious Education program (CCD) for children is an important part of our Catholic identity. The family is the primary place to teach the faith: "The family is, so to speak, the domestic church." (the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, Lumen Gentium, #11). The role of the parish, then, is to support and reinforce what is being taught and lived in the home.
Saint Stephen's volunteer teachers, in partnership with the family, follow a curriculum by grade level. Text books and activity books are provided for each year. Teachers may also use supplemental materials and students will participate in activities related to the liturgical calendar, such as making wreaths at Christmas time.
